Need A Meme? Why Not Use Imgur's New Generator

zoidberg-1Imgur, the image host for Reddit and most of the internet, just launched its own meme creation tool. And it's about the best meme generator available. This timely launch comes days after the popular meme source, Quickmeme, was banned from Reddit for employing bots to downvote memes generated by competitors. Imgur's tool wasn't built overnight, though. It has been in the works for sometime and is just part of the image host's move into content creation tools.

Custombuilt Katamari controller is made from a yoga ball, DualShock 2 controller, power of the cosmos video

Conventional wisdom would suggest that making a for-real Katamari Damacy ball would be tricky, but that didn't stop Chris McInnis, Ron LeBlanc and Tom Gwozdz taking up the challenge. As part of the Nuit Blanche festival in London, Canada (which also included some building-projected gaming), they were able to fashion their very own Katamari ball from a yoga ball, some stickers, wood, an Arduino microcontroller, several optical mice and a dissected DualShock 2 controller. See how it steers after the break.

Missing red panda from National Zoo found in DC

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Animal keepers from the National Zoo have captured a red panda in a Washington neighborhood after it went missing from its enclosure at the zoo.

National Zoo spokeswoman Pamela Baker-Masson says the male named Rusty was captured Monday afternoon in a bush in the Adams Morgan neighborhood.

The red panda is being taken to the zoo's animal hospital for a checkup.

Unlike giant pandas, red pandas are not members of the bear family. Red pandas are slightly bigger than a domestic cat and look similar to a raccoon. They are listed as vulnerable in the wild.

Rusty arrived at the zoo in April from the zoo in Lincoln, Neb., and was in quarantine for several weeks until he went on exhibit in early June.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

Zookeepers are searching for a red panda that has gone missing from its enclosure in Washington.

National Zoo spokeswoman Pamela Baker-Masson says animal keepers discovered the male named Rusty was missing Monday morning. They began searching the zoo at 8 a.m.

Unlike giant pandas, red pandas are not members of the bear family. Red pandas are slightly bigger than a domestic cat and look similar to a raccoon. They are listed as vulnerable in the wild.

Red pandas are highly territorial, so Baker-Masson says it's unlikely that Rusty traveled far. He is likely hiding high in a tree branch to hide in the tree canopy.

"Everybody continues to look for him," Baker-Masson said. "As the day heats up, he will likely sleep and hide."

Animal keepers last saw him Sunday evening about 6 p.m. when he was fed and appeared healthy. They believe he may stay in hiding during the day. They are also looking at the possibility that Rusty is sick or that someone took him.

Rusty arrived at the zoo in April from the zoo in Lincoln, Neb., and was in quarantine for several weeks until he went on exhibit in early June. Rusty is vaccinated and is not aggressive, but he is a wild animal and could bite if he became cornered and scared, Baker-Masson said.

The zoo began sending out messages about his disappearance Monday morning on Twitter in case someone sees him at the zoo.

"Unless he was very motivated, he would not wander far from his habitat," Baker-Masson said. "This red panda is not down on the (National) Mall."

Aerobics | Why I Love Aerobics Dvds? ? Article Dashboard - Fitness ...

I tried going to the gym in the evenings and I was yawning in the treadmill all the time, I couldn?t lift a leg, so I said maybe I am a morning person?, Yeah right. Kids are sick, have nightmares and more and my nights are cut into periods of sleep and their shouting : ?Mummy, mummy? (why is that they always want me and not my husband at night ah?). So going to the gym in the morning was pretty impossible, I was going to give up when one of the mothers in my son?s daycare mentiones aerobics dvds, I said ?wow, that could be my solution?.

I started to search online and found some good reviews on aerobic step dvd and cardio dvds and purchased some, my life has changed forever. I am much more energetic, I feel much better, I lost some weight and I gained some muscle.
For the newbies in the area, I put some information together on this aerobics routines, I am now truly an advocate or these dvds and recently purchased kickboxing dvds which are more advanced but I loved them.

    What is aerobic exercise?
Aerobics are a type of exercise that makes you sweat and feel your heart beating hard. The blood circulating through your veins is delivering oxygen to every part of your body, if you sustain this level of effort for more than just a few minutes while your heart, lungs, and muscles work overtime, you are doing aerobics exercise.

This rhythmic activity involves large muscle groups. Aerobic exercise makes the lungs work harder as the body?s need for oxygen is increased.

    Benefits
    * Increased energy levels
    * Stress reduction (endorphins are released when you exercise)
    * Higher metabolic rate (helps you lose weight even when you are resting)
    * Blood pressure reduction and much more.

    Aerobics at home
The cheapest options are putting on your favourite aerobics DVDs and dance around your living room.
In time, when you more ?pro? you can buy affordable exercising aids such as steps, skipping ropes, dance mats and more.
Aerobics dvds are a great way to exercise even if you have little time in between your busy day and you can do it in your own living room without driving to the local gym. So even when rains or snow there is no excuse.

The real benefits of aerobic exercise come from constant movement.

    How often to train?
For fitness it is recommended to exercise 3 to 5 times a week and for 30-60 minutes, not including warming up at the start and cooling down at the end. But there are theories nowadays that state that even 10-20 minutes every day can do the job.

When to raise your exercise level?
When you exercise try to step up your efforts whenever you reach a comfort zone, you should be out of breath but still capable of speaking when you are exercising, if it is less than that you should be progressing to the next level.

    How do I start?
Consult your physician. Then start slowly, if you have been inactive for some time, don?t start training for an hour every day.
If half an hour it?s too much, start with 10 minutes some days and then increase to 15 or 20 minute sessions the next week and so on. Listen to your body.

I really hope that you will find this solution as good as I did, and start training to get all the benefits of a healthier more energetic life.

Chinese dissident to leave New York University shortly

    By Jonathan Allen

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng, who left his home country last year and became a visiting scholar at New York University, will leave the school this summer but will likely remain in the United States, university officials said on Thursday.

Chen made international headlines last year when he escaped house arrest in China's Shandong province, after campaigning for farmers and disabled citizens and exposing forced abortions in China. Chen spent 20 hours on the run before finding refuge at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, prompting urgent negotiations between the two countries and, finally, China's agreement to let him travel to the United States.

Chen, who was born blind and taught himself law, may head to Fordham University Law School, also in New York City, according to a Fordham spokesman who said negotiations were still underway.

Chen could not immediately be reached for comment, but Danica Mills, an interpreter for Chen, said he may release a statement later.

Since moving with his wife and children to New York, working at NYU's U.S.-Asia Law Institute and working to learn English, Chen has continued to criticize China's human rights record, both through NYU forums and elsewhere.

On Thursday, the New York Post, citing an anonymous professor, reported that NYU had asked Chen to leave the school earlier than agreed at the behest of the Chinese authorities for fear that displeasing them would disrupt the construction of an NYU campus in Shanghai.

NYU confirmed that Chen would leave the school, but a spokesman called the Post's report "fanciful and false."

"If it were true, why would NYU have taken Mr. Chen in at the height of the public fervor, and why would the Chinese authorities have given us permissions to move forward with our Shanghai campus AFTER his arrival here?" spokesman John Beckman said in an email. "The plain fact is that these are unrelated matters. In countless hours of conversations involving the establishment of our Shanghai campus, this matter has never come up."

Jerome Cohen, an NYU law professor and friend of Chen who helped broker his departure from China, stated in May 2012, before Chen left Beijing, that he would be at NYU for a year at most.

Cohen had said, in an interview with PBS, "The idea would be, they could come for up to a year. And, at that point, he will be more comfortable with himself. He will be more adjusted to freedom. And he will have to decide, 'What next?'"

Cohen, who is travelling in China, said in a statement that: "No political refugee, even Albert Einstein, has received better treatment by an American academic institution than that received by Chen from NYU, and I am grateful to the university administration for its extraordinary generosity, which could not reasonably be expected to go on indefinitely."

In an interview with Reuters last month, Chen criticized China in the wake of reports that his relatives there had been harassed and mistreated by local authorities, and urged the United States to intervene, saying China had promised that his family would not be targeted.
