Development Of John Wall Will Determine Washington Wizards? Future

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

It has been another lost season for the Washington Wizards and with the team at 15-37 for the 2012-13 season, there aren?t very many things to cheer for in Washington right now. The team traded Jordan Crawford away on Thursday afternoon and that leaves one player that was injured earlier this season that is going to need to work even harder over the next number of years. That would be John Wall, who is already in his third year in Washington but is starting to really show what kind of superstar he could potentially be.

Wall is averaging just over 14 points a game since returning and while his numbers are the lowest in his whole career, there was going to be rust that needed to come off of Wall before he gets back to his normal levels. Wall is a dynamic player who has more than seven assists per game so he is not a one-man wrecking crew and with another guard in Bradley Beal now on the roster, Wall isn?t going to have to score as much as he has in the past.

The Wizards need a ton of help with the team not winning nearly enough but it may end up coming down to Wall continuing to improve and when he hits his peak in the next few years, the team needs to be able to win on a regular basis. This is Wall?s team without any doubt in my mind but until Washington breaks in enough talent around Wall, the Wizards will never go anywhere in the National Basketball Association. It?s a sad state of affairs around Wall right now.
